Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski scored a goal in each half to propel them to thumping win 5-2 at Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League.
The score was opened in the 13th minute when Inigo Martinez headed in from a Raphinha free-kick, firm in close range into the bottom-left corner.
However, Barca were brought back into the game when Silas feasted off their offside trap to equalize with a good, composed finish on a counterattack during its 14th minute of play.
Lewandowski then finished off a rebound after Raphinha struck the post in the 43rd minute, before extending Barca’s lead eight minutes into the second half with a first-time strike from a Jules Kounde cross.
The France full-back set up Raphinha for the fourth and added an assist again in the 76th minute by shooting on a plate for Fermin Lopez to complete Barca’s fifth inside the box.
A home sub Milson made it 5-1 with six minutes remaining, but still left Red Star on one point and 35th, whereas Barca are level on nine in the sixth of a 30-team table.
Data Breakdown: Lewandowski All by Himself
Lewandowski has scored 19 goals from 16 games for Barcelona in the current season, by far the most any player has recorded for any team in the premier five leagues in Europe across all formats.
Eleven of these goals have come in away games, again the most scored by any player during this period.
As a unit, 55 goals in 16 games in all competitions make up the tally this season, as though none of the big five European leagues are able to exceed that accomplishment.
